Up, up and away…
Ceilings are the forgotten step-child in most rooms, but it’s amazing what happens if you treat them to a bit of paint love.
Makes you want to bust out your paint roller and go nuts, no?

I’m really feeling the wallpaper lately.
I can’t stop posting about it, and today I want to continue exploring limited usage applications. We’ve already discussed framed panels, so now let’s look at one whole wall:
There’s definitely something to it. (I’ve always been a fan of the giant wall mural paper that looks like you’re in a forest, and something about this brings me back to that) I think I like this look because it’s bold, whimsical and adventurous without being too claustrophobic. Maybe it’s time for me to start the hunt for a great paper….I’m thinking the wall behind my bed…..
This is the perfect blend of modern/ethnic, pattern/minimalism, color/black & white.
Love.
A few months back, Jones Magazine asked me to be a guest editor for their September issue. I jumped at the chance (of course!), and am thrilled to tell you that the issue is on stands now with a home section created by yours truly! Thank you, Jones – I had a ball working on the project, and the spread looks like a million!
Check it out this weekend if you have a chance, and I’ll see you back here on Monday…
This guy might be a bit OCD, but whatever. His miniature sculptures (real, not photoshop creations!) are totally incredible – love to have ‘the chain’ in my art collection!
Pencil Tip Sculptures by Dalton Ghetti:
So, I have a ton of them. I’ve definitely trimmed the fat over the years, but I still have vast collections of ‘stuff I love’. The challenge is finding ways to incorporate it all into cohesive design schemes that aren’t cluttered, and here are some samples of how that could look!
Milk Glass collection:
(How brilliant! I love that the wall color is so strong and saturated – perfect way to set off the glass.)
Beaded necklaces:
(Who knew that all of my necklaces have the potential to become a type of crown molding?! I’ve got to do this…)
Rug beaters:
(Genius. I love that the collection is now 3-D wallpaper in a ‘throw away’ space like a stairwell.)
Driftwood:
(I collect wood, stones and shells whenever I’m at the beach, and it all ends up in piles. How fab to string pieces up and create a free-form chandelier.)
Plates:
(New meaning for the term ‘blue plate special’.)
I’m thrilled to report that I’m moonlighting over at Chic Modern Vintage today!

I’m off to Detroit today.
I hear that Greek cuisine is big there (LOVE – used to call Astoria, NY home, and that ‘hood is all about the tasty Greek), so I’m planning on some kabob and baklava. See you next week!
