There’s definitely something to it. (I’ve always been a fan of the giant wall mural paper that looks like you’re in a forest, and something about this brings me back to that) I think I like this look because it’s bold, whimsical and adventurous without being too claustrophobic.  Maybe it’s time for me to start the hunt for a great paper….I’m thinking the wall behind my bed…..

I appreciate a space that lets my eye bounce around and have a wee adventure, so what better way to accomplish some of that style fun than a zig zag rug? They’re bold and graphic, but can work beautifully with almost any style of decor – plus they add that ‘fresh’ vibe that is so vital to making a space sing. Check it…

The runner is only $120 – an easy update/pop without going broke on the (admittedly fab) Madeline Weinrib  version.

I love the Pantone S chair – sinuous curves, fab colors and a Jetson’s vibe.  Most of all, I love that this design classic has a personality that’s so distinctive it can instantly foil whatever it’s paired with…makes for an easy ‘mix’.

I LOVE this. Classic marries Quirky, thanks to all of the marble and the scale of the chandelier. (Life would be so much better if more people employed dazzling chandeliers, dontcha’ think?)

Pattern freaks people out because the recipe for getting it right can seem a bit mysterious.

Rules of thumb: choose a dominant color, and graduate the scale (small, medium, large) of the patterns used so that they play nicely together.

Our friends had a ‘Rock Band’ themed B-day party, so I got to play out one of my life long fantasies! (Note: I find that copious eyeliner and 18 necklaces can fulfill almost any costuming requirement.)
